Baking

Bakery managers must have experience preparing baked goods such as pastries, breads, cakes and cookies. Furthermore, bakery managers must have experience baking in large quantities. Bakery manager is required to add new items to the list of the bakery's offerings. Bakers must be detail-oriented and have an eye for aesthetics, as baked goods must look appealing. Bakery managers are responsible for merchandising baked goods and quality control, which also requires an eye for aesthetics.

Personnel Responsibilities

Bakery managers typically oversee baking staff to ensure the bakery's standards are enforced. That means making sure bakery staff comply with customer service and safety policies. Bakery managers is in charge of hiring, developing and terminating bakery staff. Furthermore, bakery managers are generally responsible for scheduling employees and ensuring payroll stays within the bakery's budget.

Overseeing inventory is part of a bakery manager's responsibility. Overseeing inventory involves ordering and rotating ingredients such as flour, sugar, and butter; it also involves receiving and unloading deliveries. Tracking inventory requires calculating the proper amount of ingredients necessary for production of baked goods on a given day or week. As such, math skills are required. Furthermore, a bakery manager must keep an eye on demand for each kind of pastry to know how much to supply.

Budgeting

Responsible for ensuring the profitability of a bakery. This means they must work within the confines of the bakery's budget in order to maximize sales. Budgeting involves knowing how to price baked goods and tracking sales, labor and inventory costs. Creating and maintaining a budget requires basic accounting skills, which can be acquired through on-the-job training or prior experience.

Cleanliness and Safety

Bakery managers must enforce standards regarding food handling practices, safety and sanitation.This requires knowledge of health department regulations. Bakery managers are charged with keeping the bakery clean, which involves cleaning and organizing display cases, bakery coolers and work areas.

Make signs and coordinate with pastry Chef Holiday Orders, making sure pictures and items are displayed ahead for preordering.
Create new business by calling prospective clients and tour
Create and Maintain inventory of Shed/ Storage and other location
