Stollen is a precious German cake with a centuries old tradition. Hundreds of years ago, eating special cake like this was a privilege enjoyed mostly by the nobility and clergy. In 1329 A.D. Bishop Heinrich von Naumburg granted a special dispensation to the people to bake Stollen for Christmas. The cake was prized and special because it contained pure butter and rare spices and the dispensation was issued with the condition that each citizen who chose to bake the Stollen donate two of the cakes each year to the household of the bishop and his successors.

We use an authentic recipe from Saxony, an area that is world famous for its Stollen. Our Stollen is carefully crafted by dedicated bakers and pastry chefs and made from the finest ingredients. The Stollen reaches its most impeccable flavor after several weeks. It has an extremely long shelf-life, making it perfect for gift giving and celebrations.

The Stollen are identical with the exception that the Marzipan Stollen contains a Marzipan roll in the middle of the cake which enhances the flavor significantly.
